Practice Meets Science!

As part of the “Fundamentals of Taxation” course at TU Dortmund University, we were pleased to host a guest lecture by Baker Tilly this week.

Using a case study, we worked together to explore the fundamentals of taxation for partnerships—from the principle of transparency to the two-step profit determination process, and on to supplementary and special balance sheets. In addition to the tax fundamentals, the focus was particularly on practical case studies and a concluding quiz.

Guest lectures like this one enable our students to explore tax issues from the perspective of consulting practice and to apply the topics covered in class to real-world scenarios!
